Change what your submission is
A submission is an abstract, a poster or a full paper. What it is can be changed, on the same submission and under the same tracking code. Who changes it, and how, depends on where the work has got to.
Do not start a second submission to change the kind. Two submissions of the same work look like duplicates to the organizers, and the reviews stay with the first.

Only kinds the call accepts are offered. If a kind is not in the list, the call does not take it.
The sections below take each change in turn. In every one, the answer depends on the stage: a draft, in review, accepted or published.
From abstract to poster
Section titled “From abstract to poster”- A draft. Open your draft. At the top, beside the title, This is a shows what the draft is. Choose Poster from the list.
- In review. You cannot change it yourself, because the reviewers are reading it as an abstract. Message the editors and say why. They can change the kind, and the reviews stay with the work.
- Accepted. You ask, and the editors change it:
- Open the accepted abstract. Under the decision, press Ask to present as a poster, and confirm.
- The editors receive the request in your name. Nothing changes until they agree.
- When they change it, you are told. It stays accepted, under the same tracking code.
- Your submission then has a step for the designed poster, where you can upload it at once. Where the call asks every poster for its designed sheet, your list of submissions shows Poster to upload until you have.
- Published. Not possible. See After it is published.
The button shows only where the call accepts posters.
From abstract to full paper
Section titled “From abstract to full paper”- A draft. Choose Full paper in the This is a list at the top of your draft. The body and the references open for writing.
- In review, or sent back for revision. Use Turn this into a full paper on the submission. It opens for writing, and the full paper is reviewed in a round of its own.
- Accepted. Use Turn this into a full paper. Your accepted abstract stays accepted, and stays in the book of abstracts, while the full paper is written and reviewed. The steps are in From abstract to full paper.
- Published. Not possible. See After it is published.

From full paper to abstract or poster

- Published. Not possible.
A draft: what to know
Section titled “A draft: what to know”- Nothing you wrote is deleted by a change of kind. Text that the new kind does not show is kept.
- A draft the editors sent back without review is a draft again, so its kind can be changed the same way before you send it again.
- Only kinds the call accepts are in the list.
What follows the kind
Section titled “What follows the kind”The kind is printed in the book of abstracts, in the programme, on the certificate and in the letter of acceptance, so all of them follow a change. The tracking code never changes.
After it is published
Section titled “After it is published”A published work is public and can be cited, so it has to keep being what was cited. Its kind cannot be changed. If you have been asked for a fuller version, start a new submission and say in it which work it extends.
